Hello and Welcome

    The South Vancouver Island Basketball Association was started in 1986 as an avenue to allow South Vancouver Island boys and girls basketball players the opportunity to play during the so-called off-season.
    A volunteer board of coaches organizes and supervises all the SVIBA programs each year. Every year more players become involved in the SVIBA programs which means local high-school teams will reap the benefits with stronger players when they return home to their schools. Since 2003, our parent organization, Vancouver Island Basketball Association (VIBA), decided that SVIBA should continue to operate its website and the promotion of its programs and tournaments under the SVIBA banner.
    All money earned through the various programs is used to help subsidize players and further development opportunities for local players.
